Interim President Willie Hagan has appointed 11 leaders to serve on the President's Administrative Board.

Dr. Willie J. Hagan
Prior to his appointment as interim president in 2012, Willie J. Hagan served the university as vice president for administration and finance and chief financial officer, responsible for all administrative, business and financial operations of the university's $380-million enterprise. Since joining Cal State Fullerton in 1996, he has overseen the university’s administrative functions and has provided increasing levels of service to the campus during a period of unprecedented growth. A results-oriented administrator with a collaborative work style and a proven ability to motivate and lead within the academic community, Hagan from 2000-03 served as interim vice president for University Advancement and was instrumental in the reorganization of that division. Beginning in 2005, Hagan assumed responsibility for campus financial operations as the university’s chief financial officer, and among his accomplishments developed and executed a plan for the Auxiliary Services Corporation to purchase College Park, a 200,000-square-foot building adjacent to the campus that has proven critical for academic program growth. He holds a doctorate in psychology from the University of Connecticut and a master of fine arts degree from UCLA. Before coming to CSUF, he served as associate vice president for administration at the University of Connecticut, and as a lobbyist for the University of Connecticut and the Connecticut Board of Governors for Higher Education at the state and federal level. He has led U.S. political delegations to London and Taiwan as a member of the American Council of Young Political Leaders, a bipartisan, nonprofit educational exchange organization dedicated to fostering relations between the next generation of political leaders in the United States and their international counterparts.
Dr. Silas H. Abrego*
Interim Vice President for Student Affairs
Until his current appointment in 2011, Sy Abrego had been associate vice president for Student Affairs since 1998. Previously, he was director of Student Academic Services and University Outreach. He joined the university in 1985 and holds master's and doctorate degrees from USC.
Mr. William “Bill” Barrett*
Interim Vice President for Administration and Finance/CFO
Bill Barrett joined the university in 1998 as associate vice president for Administration, following prior service in senior administrative positions at the University of Connecticut. His bachelor's and M.P.A. degrees are from the University of Massachusetts.
Dr. John “Jack” Bedell
Academic Senate Chair and Emeritus Professor of Sociology
Jack Bedell's 40 years at CSUF includes service as the chair of multiple departments, six terms as Academic Senate chair, and a term as CSU Academic Senate Chair. He joined the university in 1969, and holds a doctorate from Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Keith O. Boyum
Interim Executive Assistant to the President and Emeritus Professor of Political Science
Having joined the university in 1972, Keith Boyum moved from faculty member to CSU associate vice chancellor of Academic Affairs. Other prior posts included CSUF associate vice president for Academic Programs, Academic Senate chair and dean of Graduate Studies. He holds a doctorate from the University of Minnesota.
Mr. Jeffrey D. Cook
Associate Vice President for Strategic Communications
Jeff Cook joined the university in 2006, coming to Cal State Fullerton with a background in communications, fundraising and enrollment management. He earned a bachelor's degree from Hartwick College in New York and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from the University of San Francisco.
Mr. Amir Dabirian*
Vice President for Information Technology
A two-time CSUF alumnus Amir Dabirian first joined the staff in 1996. He holds a master’s degree from UC Riverside, and previously served as assistant vice chancellor for Information Technology Services and chief information officer for the CSU.
Ms. Naomi Goodwin
Interim Chief of Staff / Staff Assistant to the President
After joining the university in 1997, Naomi Goodwin served as director of Employee Training and Development, assistant vice president for Administration, and in 2011 was named associate vice president for Administration. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix.
Ms. Pamela C. Hillman*
Vice President for University Advancement
Pam Hillman has led the university's comprehensive advancement program since 2003. Previously, she held senior leadership positions at UC Riverside, Mount Saint Mary's College in Los Angeles, the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management and Caltech. She earned a bachelor's degree from Cal State Northridge and a master's degree from California Lutheran College.
Dr. Steven N. Murray *
Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
An international authority on coast marine ecosystems, Steve Murray is the former dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and professor of biological science. He joined the university’s science faculty in 1971, and holds bachelor's and master's degrees from UC Santa Barbara and a doctorate from UC Irvine.
Ms. Monique C. Shay
Appointed university counsel for Cal State Fullerton in 2008, Monique Shay previously served several CSU campuses while in the Office of General Counsel from 1995-2000. From 2000-08, she worked for the Los Angeles County Office of Education and UC Berkeley. Shay is a member of the CSU’s Academic and Student Affairs team and serves as the resource attorney for matters involving the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. She holds a law degree from UC Berkeley and a bachelor's degree from UCLA.
